I love this reminder. There are so many elements to a flourishing creative life. I need to lose the guilt over the rest and renewal phase, to actually embrace it fully instead of feeling like I'm just stealing time away from more important things. 💜
And also, Substack is really helping with the feedback piece of the cycle. Before Substack it felt like creating in the dark. Now I have actual readers. So motivating. 😊
I second both of those Phoebe. It is hard to gauge how things are going in the dark, Substack has been such a gift to the writing community. And yes for the renewal, it is hard to let go which is why I love this reminder too.
Great post! I really appreciate the visuals and the reminder. I think this creative journey can take so many different shapes and styles - my own feels much more... spiky. Less smooth and well rounded, but still with plenty of opportunities for exploration and reflection. I feel like I have a lot of "open loops" in my life - and my creative life - and very rarely close them off nicely before moving onto the next thing, if that makes sense! It feels much messier 😂 xx
