I really enjoyed reading this interview/conversation. Your questions are deep and thoughtful, Ta, and, dear Beth, your honesty, generous spirit and innate wisdom shine in every word. Thank you both. What an amazing journey life is, and how perfect that we are able to share our insights and discoveries with one another.
I think Beth's summary of the highs and lows, the scope and limits of life are summed up by her wise words: 'You have agency but you are not in control'......and her throwaway line: marry someone who will never question how much you spend on books.
It's fascinating to see the books others choose as pivotal in their growth.
At nearly 70 years, I know from experience how much an understanding partner contributes to our joy in life - in our case, a life of the mind and faith has always helped us cope with the vagaries, joys and sorrows of life.
I enjoyed all your responses to Ta's questions. 📚 😉
Thank you so much for conducting and sharing this soulful interview. When I grow up I wish to be like Beth, it doesn't matter that I am older than her, I am still growing. :)
Aren’t we all still growing 🫶 thank you for reminding me we always are, age matters not, we are always evolving and learning and flourishing. Thanks for this Terje 💖
Great interview that I loved reading. I sometimes wonder about not everyone understanding how difficult our life journeys are. That to get to the gold we experience dark moments but as we persist through then we meet beautiful people and places that each bring a piece to our puzzle, that creates something more beautiful than we could ever imagine
