Tell me, in your own way, is there an underlying yearning you have to find meaning in this life?
Isn’t it odd to have this drive for meaning where we know there is nothing tangible to be found?
I spent many years as a young adult wondering and finding the lack of answers an interesting part of who I am.
I travelled to third-world countries and wondered how different their idea of that search must be. I see the first-world reach for material possession to define self. Life meaning has to be available for every human for it to be the answer. It cannot require any possession, achievement, or status.
If you have nothing, how can you find meaning? The pure reality of this question has to behold an answer that fits.
The search for meaning is in the search. The joy of exploration, of growth, all done along the unique path that lays before each of us.
We are an animal. I don’t think our life can differ vastly from other animals in a sense of meaning. It is no more or less, no more fair or perfect than the experience of every other animal.
We each have a path before us. We each have interests, be it constant or changing, that drive us along the path. Living true to your interests as the path before you allows will give your life meaning.
It is in the living. It is in the exploring. And in the times itches lie satisfied, in the quiet moments we have to enjoy simple things.
What do you think is the meaning of this life?
And, do you too think it’s a little odd to have this drive for meaning where we know there is nothing tangible to be found?
Love your use of present participles, Ta........life is happening now 😉
