I have been working to get back into writing since I became a parent five years ago. I guess it is more of a working out how to fit it all in with a need to be constantly fluid. Naturally, this leads to times I can write and periods I can’t get to. I have struggled with how this has resulted in not posting regularly, but I have come to accept I can only ever do what I can.
Additionally, I am deep in editing my first book, Struggling to Soften, which I have this poem in, along with many life musings. I am deep in many, many re-edits. I am planning to self-publish after not having any luck with publishers. Editing hasn’t left much time for writing, but I really want to start coming back to it with more regularity.
To help, I have just finished
‘s Writing Sanctuary which was a great free course and I signed up for her next free course on getting a book deal and decided to pay for her River of Words course. If you are interested, her website is here, and click on her name above to follow her on Substack. She also provides daily writing prompts via her Substack notes. My handwritten poem above is my action to the #meetthewriter Day 3 prompt to show your handwriting. I do love the more personalised feel of handwriting my poetry gives.Beth is one of many talented and inspiring writers on Substack. To name just a few of what great talent Substack is attracting, here are a few more I am enjoying:

In complete honesty, I don’t pay to subscribe to any of the above. I am not in a position to pay to subscribe and don’t think anything should worry if they cannot pay to subscribe to any either. Jump onto what is free and find yourself still inspired!
